Job Advert: IT & Case Management Systems Developer
The firm has recently migrated its Case Management system from SOS Connect to Actionstep and we are seeking a technically capable and process-focused individual to support, maintain, and develop the firm’s case management system. Experience working within a legal setting on a comparable case management system is desirable.
You will work closely with the partners, fee earners and support staff to maintain and improve legal workflows, the template and precedent library, and to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
Working alongside department leads and your line manager, you will be responsible for planning and leading improvements to the firm’s legal and administrative workflows, including proposing and implementing system changes. As the firm’s case management expert, you will also liaise with multiple and varied third-party software providers, consultants and support services as required.
Brewer Harding & Rowe places a strong emphasis on consistency across work types. The successful candidate will become familiar with the firm’s preferred approaches and ensure that any proposed changes align with these principles.
You will be responsible for creating, maintaining and updating detailed user guides within the firm’s knowledge base, as well as maintaining the precedent and template library.
The role will act as the first point of contact for general IT support queries across the firm’s systems and software, including the Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Arken and Exizent is desirable but not essential; the successful candidate will be expected to develop a working understanding of these systems to provide effective support if required.
Additional responsibilities include managing user accounts and system permissions, delivering new starter training, identifying ongoing training, promoting skill sharing and best practice across the firm.
You will also be involved in developing the firms IT strategy, in consultation with the partners, and other elements of the firms IT infrastructure including but not limited to ongoing development of the firms intranet system, website, digital phone system, hardware maintenance and renewal, as well as supporting our marketing team with their digital marketing strategies.

Job Advert: IT Administrative Support Role
We are looking for someone with proven administrative experience to support and maintain our case management and other IT based administrative systems and processes across the firm.
You will have a strong understanding of IT systems but training will be given in the specific systems used by the firm. You must be able to demonstrate an aptitude for organisation, attention to detail and managing multiple priorities and be confident in making amendments, implementing changes, and improving existing processes and procedures. The ideal candidate will be logical in approach and possess skills to be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
The role is varied but will include the day-to-day administration required for the smooth running of the case management system, including management of the template and precedent library and workflow systems, as well as maintaining the firm’s user guides and knowledge base, user accounts and permissions and working with the appropriate department leads on training and bast practice. You will also provide administrative support to maintain up to date content on the firm’s intranet, website and office manual.
You will also work closely with the marketing team, providing IT and administrative support, assisting with digital marketing systems and initiatives.
You will also provide administrative support to the Partners, Office Manager and Accounts Manager generally in meeting the firm’s wide-ranging risk and compliance obligations, including maintenance of membership panels, training portals, accounts information and associated IT based systems and procedures.

Job Advert: Legal Cashier
We are looking ideally for an experienced Legal Cashier to join our Accounts department based in our firm’s Barnstaple office. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assisting our Accounts Manager and ensuring compliance with the SRA Accounts Rules. Alternatively we will consider applications from those with a financial management background. On the job training will be given with the potential for support towards the Institute of Legal Finance and Management qualification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing client transactions and assisting with the reconciliation of client account balances;
- Processing of bills, invoices and statement and ensuring timely and accurate billing to clients and managing the collection of outstanding debts;
- Ensuring the firm’s ongoing compliance with the SRA Accounts Rules;
- To be part of a team that continuously keeps under review the processes and systems in place to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the Accounts department;
- Act as a key point of contact with others within the firm including the firm’s management team;
- Assist with the preparation of the firm’s annual audit;
- Assist with the preparation of regular financial reports to senior management including cash flow forecasts, profit and loss statements and other key financial metrics
Qualifications and Experience:
- Ideally you will have experience within the legal industry and an understanding of the SRA Accounts Rules but we are open to applications from those with sufficient financial background looking to transfer their skills from a different industry;
- Knowledge of legal accounting software and case management systems;
- Strong financial acumen with experience in managing client accounts, billing and reconciliation processes including;
- Experience with double entry book keeping;
- Strong attention to details with a high level of accuracy in financial management
