Richard obtained a Law Degree from the University of Oxford Brookes in 2006 and trained locally before qualifying in 2009. Richard is currently enrolled on the STEP (Society for Trust and Estate Practitioners) diploma, a specialist qualification in his field of work.
Richard concentrates now on Wills, Probate, Trust administration and General Private Client matters. He has experience in a range of different areas and this includes dealing with small Estates to more complicated matters involving the payment of Inheritance Tax and dealing with Charitable beneficiaries. In general private client matters, he undertakes the drafting of Wills, the preparation and registration of Lasting Powers of Attorney, he deals with applications to the Court of Protection for the appointment of a Deputy and also the preparation of Statutory Wills for persons lacking the capacity to make a Will themselves.
Richard grew up in North Devon and returned to the area to complete his training. He plays rugby for Bideford Rugby Club and is a keen cricketer and runner.
