Penny joined the firm in 2024 as Paralegal in our Dispute Resolution Team. She is a qualified Advanced Paralegal (MCILEX).
Prior to joining the team, Penny spent ten years with a local firm, ultimately specialising in Medical Negligence claims including delayed diagnosis and treatment, orthopaedic injuries, falls injuries, pressure sores as well as cosmetic surgery and dental negligence claims.
Working alongside Tim Watson and Robert Bourne in our Dispute Resolution team, Penny is developing her general civil litigation skills. She undertakes a wide variety of work including land and property disputes, Wills and inheritance disputes, professional negligence claims, personal injury claims, as well as continuing her specialism in medical negligence.
Penny was educated in Barnstaple before moving to Hertfordshire to work in a Criminal Defence law firm where she first discovered her love for the law. She studied for her Law degree LLB (Hons) with the Open University while working full time and raising a family. In 2010 she returned to Devon and continued her career in law with a local firm. She is the final stage of her CILEx professional training to become a qualified CILEx Lawyer.
In the community, Penny is an active Trustee and Secretary of the North Devon Forum for Autism and ADHD charity, Community Governor (Chair) for a local secondary school and a Secretary for a local Parochial Church Council.
When not working, Penny enjoys an active lifestyle along the local coastline including cold water swimming, motorbiking, and walking her energetic young puppy. When time allows, Penny also enjoys quieter pursuits including hand crafts.
